Extending the 'movies in concert series'

The perfect spring-time musical movie, La La Land was the darling of the 2017 Academy Awards, skipping away with no less than six gongs. Now part of the extended film series at Majestic Theatre, the San Antonio Symphony will be playing the magical and jaunty score by Justin Hurwitz, whilst we watch the characters played by Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling dance their way across Los Angeles on-screen!

Casting a spell like the classics of Hollywood's Golden Age, La La Land is the story of aspiring actress Mia (Emma Stone) and frustrated jazz musician Sebastian (Ryan Gosling), each trying to get ahead in sunny Los Angeles. After fate brings the two together, they fall in love. But happily ever after is in jeopardy when stardom comes knocking. Beautifully shot, acted and performed, it's a bittersweet romance, a tribute to LA and a wonderful addition to the movie musical canon.
