I just saw this show on a business trip to Dallas. It was great and even better than the first Shadowland!!!

To begin, I have seen the Pilobolus piece 'Shadowland' Twice. I loved it! The most beautiful thing I have ever seen. The shapes and pictures made by the dancers bodies were mesmerizing. But this performance was far from what I had seen before. This performance was way too many videos/ mediocre escape acts and random meaningless movements. This program didn't showcase the exquisite artistry that this company has gifted the audiences with previously. I was so sad!

1/3 of the show was on video. If I knew this in advance, I would not have come. It was tired and unorganized. Don't waste your money and time!

I have been a fan of Pilobolus for over 35 years. The imagination, innovation, and high level of artistry is just not there anymore. It is a shadow of its former glory. The new pieces are amateur and seem like ideas from college choreography concerts. The Dancers are very talented , but have nothing to work with. The surprising unexpectedness and fresh ideas of the original founders has been diluted by the new creative leadership. They need to ask themselves what IS Pilobolus, not what WAS Pilobolus. Some new life needs to be injected into the company, when the best pieces in a program are at least 20 years old , I have seen them at the joyce almost every time they have been there. Hoping to see the flame lit anew. this might be the last season for me. It is really a shame, I am huge fan of what they once were.......

I really don't understand all the accolades and rave reviews this group receives. I found their numbers incredibly tedious, the videos uninteresting and very little dance to appreciate. The themes for many of the numbers were very violent and this is not, in my opinion, entertainment. I would not recommend this show to anyone.

I was not impressed with this show at all, they should not have warmed up in front of the audience. They wasted too much time in between transitions to the next dance/act. I will not recommend Pilobolus based on this performance and I will not see them again.
